Ghent Cardigan (English)

£6.95

This pattern is in English.

Ghent Cardigan has a relaxed, boxy style. The dropped underarm creates a contemporary silhouette, while the fuller upper sleeve adds a bold, statement feel. The button band features a double-knit detail before transitioning into ribbing.

First the back is worked back and forth with short rows to create shaping on the shoulders. Stitches are then picked up along the cast-on edge and further short rows worked for a superior shoulder fit. Each front is worked back and forth with increases to create the V-neck shape. The fronts are then joined with the back to work back and forth until your desired length is achieved. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole and then worked in the round with decreases to create a gentle taper towards the wrist. Lastly, stitches are picked up around the edge of the cardigan for the button band, which features a short section in double-knit followed by ribbing.
