The Highlands Sweater has a saddle shoulder construction paired with short rows to create a modern shape with excellent fit and drape. The construction allows for a seamless contrast colour sleeve. Small details along the neckline and before the sleeve and body ribbing provide a sporty look.

The sweater is worked from the top down. First the left and right shoulders are worked and stitches put on hold to form part of the sleeves. Stitches are then picked up along the back to work back and forth with short-row shaping. Stitches are then picked up along the left and right fronts and worked back and forth whilst shaping the neckline before joining. The front is then joined to the back at the underarms and worked in the round until the desired length is achieved. The body is finished with ribbing. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole to work with the stitches put on hold during the shoulder construction; short rows are worked to provide the perfect drape to the shoulders, followed by decreases to taper the sleeves whilst working in the round before finishing with ribbing. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neck edge to work the final ribbing.

200 (200, 200, 200, 200) (250, 250, 250, 300) 300, 350 g Merino Singles by Sysleriget (100g = 366m) held together with 75 (75, 75, 75, 100) (100, 100, 100, 100) 125, 125 g Silk Mohair by Isager (25g = 212m) for main colour and 115 (120, 120, 120, 130) (130, 140, 145, 150) 160, 170 Merino Singles by Sysleriget (100g = 366m) held together with 45 (45, 45, 45, 50) (50, 50, 55, 55) 60, 65 Le Petite Silk and Mohair by Biches et Büches (25g = 210m) for contrast colour. The contrast colour yarn quantities have been provided to the nearest 5g to allow for scrap yarn to be used.

If you wish to lengthen or shorten the sweater, you may require more or less yarn.
